What? No Afghan government officials on that list? Hard to believe as 95% of the world’s opium production (base ingredient for Heroin) comes from Afghanistan where opium cultivation is supose to be illegal. There was an article in WSJ or NYT can’t remember saying that the major problem with training Afghani soldiers and cops was that most of them were stoned on heroin or marijuana most of the time. One third of Afghan farmers are addicted to opium. I do not understand why our military forces refuse to irradicate opium poppy cultivation. The Taliban did it the year before we decided to invade.
